the wrong side of the divide

these are all less economically developed countries (LEDC's) this means that they have less money and technology than more economically developed countries (MEDC's) like Britain and America. this fact means that the countries are in a state of poverty, which in turn means that many of the people in these countries cannot afford any sort of technology, or even the power to run an electrical peice, like a computer. these countries geographical position could be the feason for there economic toil, as they have little natural resource, and for this reason they needed to borrow money from the rest of the world, and they are now in huge debt, and cannot pay it off, this makes them more poor, and less able to become developed, and less likely to be able to buy and use technology.

internet and email use

there are advantages to content monitoring, as you can monitor if people are doing what they are supposed to be doing in the work place, and this stops people from deriving from there work, and doing something else. there are also some dissadvantages of doing this, such as the fact that this canmake work feel to repressed and uncomfortuble, which could also have a negative affect on the work rate of employees. this system should be used, but not in every day curcumstances, just for an anual inspection of the amount of non work related activity that goes on within the company, this can be carried out seceratively.

ID cards

there are some pros of having ID cards imployed in every day life, like the fact that it will minimise the risk of people having there identity stolen, and people cannot lie about certain thing such as age. there are also some cons with having the U.K use ID cards, such as the fact that if they are lost they can be used by another person, and the fact that this could make people feel like they are under servalence all of the time, and could cause discomfort in the population. the cards however do fulfill there purpose, as they do show whos who in the population and does provide proof of identity to the public, and also can help to secretise information, so that only authorised people can access it.

information overload

spreadsheets: these can organise thought, and display it in a table which can help work out sums, and do hard calculations for you with a simple code, this is helpfull as it canmake things easier to understand and to work out.
data mining tools: this can speed up the information extracting process, and make it quicker for businesses, and other people to get what they need out of the information in question.
simulation software:It is, essentially, a program that allows the user to observe an operation through simulation without actually running the program. this allows you to put things into action quickly and easily, which could help you understand them.

granny phones

assuming that she is not good with technology and therefotre she just wants a phone which can make calls, and possibly texts, she will not want a top of the range phone with music player, radio, and internet on it, and she might not even want a camera. assuming this i would reccomend a new, but cheap and basic phone, as it will be simpler to use, and probably better for her. for this purpose i am recommending a nokia classic, as it is new, and has a lot of features such as music player, however that part of the phone is easily avoidable when making calls, and also simple to use if my gran wants to learn how to play music.

information

the information on these sites are outrageously false, and anyone who reads them con probably tell this, however there are things other than this which you can tell from that the site is a hoax, such as the fact that most hoax sites will have a disclaimer at the bottom of the page, and this tell you that the site is a hoax, or that the the information on the site is false. you can usually tell if a site has valid information on it, as it will usually make sense, and usually will seem to be right if you look at it with common sense. also the site is usually more proffesional if the site is valid, rather than it looking like it has just been made by a school child.

business communication

there are many types of communication within a business, tere are technological types and general types. the technological types include using conferance call, e-mail, and phone calls as well as others. these types of communication are helpfull as they allow you to communicate quickly with people who arent necceserily anywhere neer you geographcally, this type of communication is essential in a successfull business. there are also types of general communication in a business, such as face to face communication, this is also an essential form of communication for a business, as without this people will not feel that they are a part of a team in the business, and may become un motivated.

communication

i use many different forms of communication in my everyday life, there are many different types of technology i use to communicate with people. one of these things is this blog whic i use to display information to the public and my ICT teacher (hello sir), also i use my mobile phone to call and text friends, as well as email and MSN messenger to talk to friends, and store informaition that i need to do homework. also i use a lot of non technical communication, much of this is face to face communication in my classes. all of the communication methods i use in my dat to day life are effective, and fulfill there purpose of providinga service of communication between people.

mobile phones

i use my mobile phone to talk to friends via call and text, to listen to music, to take picture and make videos, i use it at school to listen to music, and everywere to call and text people. it is easy to use a mobile, and it can be used almost anywere, there are many benifits of using a mobile phone, such as the flexibility of the areas you can use it in, and the fact that you can text as well if you just need to give someone a small peice of information its easy. there are some dissadvantages of using a mobile phone, like the fact that pay as you go minutes are expensive, and if you exceed your minutes on a contract, it can get expensive, also the fact that you can sometimes loose signal on your phone gets annoying if you are talking to someone and you get cut off. my mobile phone does fulfill its purpose as it does alolw me to make texts and phone calls from almost anywere, and it is a convenient service.

email

i use emil for everyday communication with friends, as wel as to send my work from school to my home, in order to complete it. i use email at school and at home, and it makes talking to friends and completing work much easier, as i can do it all over the computer. there are some dissadvantages with using this as a source of communication, such as the fact that people i am talking to cant tell when i am joking or being sarcastic, as there is no body language involved, and no vocal communication involved. email as explained helps me to complete school work at home, and this makes me more productive, it does however not help my productivity when i am talking to friens, as i get distracted from doing any work. i think email does fulfill its purpose, as it provides a source of communication that is quick and easy to use.

information vs communication

the new age is bringing different ways of communication via text and email. these are writen forms of quick communication, and some things can be lost when using them, such as the personal element, where if you are face to face with someone you can distinguish certain feelings about a subject in there body language, you dont get this with emails and texts, as you cant tell anything ther than the words on the page. although these methods are quick and easy, sometimes you are better off haveing an actual conversation with someone.

limewire- this is a program which allows you to download files under the categories of videos, images, audio, and files, this is good because you can find almost anything onthe site by typing in the key words of the file you are looking for. however there are some downsides like the fact that sometime a file has the name you are looking for but it is not the file you want, and also some searches bring up some of the wrong files, and you have to destinguish between the files you want and the files you dont.
bitcomet- this program allows you to download torrents from sites such as mininova.co.uk, this is good because you can not only get the usual files such as videos, films, and songs, but you can also get software for your computer. there are however downsides to this program as you cant always trust the software files that you download, as some of them can carry vitruses.
fruity loops- this is a prodram which allows you to make music, however the version that i downloaded carried a trogeon virus, therefore it had to be destroyed before the virus corrupted our computer, many of the free versions of this program carry viruses.
