macromedia e-learning
this is an effective way of learning because it is not just reading a book or answering questions, it brings a whole new dimension to learning, as the online learning can do much more than normal books and questions. it can give you verbal questions in an interactive way, and use images and videos, as well as sound and animations to make a point, or illustrate a question, or even give examples of something related to a question or piece of text. also you can have links to different pages, which can help you to understand something complex better, or lionks to different parts of a text to show something, such as a point that explains the future part of the text, or to show important tecniques such as foreshadowing. this however does have some disadvantages, such as the fact that the links back to other pages could make the site become confusing, or hard to find you way back from links, and the fact that the animations, and videos and other things may make it hard to focus on the task, also the fact that the technology is so good may distract the learner from the task, and effect his or her learning negatively.

net frog
the net frog site is a site where you can practice disecting a digital frog, or use it instead of disecting a real frog, this is a good site, as if you use it to practice it improves your chances of getting it right on a real frog, and for people who do not like this sort of thing, they can use the site instead of a real frog. however the site does have downfalls, such as the fact that it will be different when you do it on a real frog, which defeats the object of the site.
making the modern world
the site making the modern world is a very informaitve site, and is to a high level of design. however it is difficult to find where something is, because the design is so complex, and this makes it a worse site than it would be if it had a simpler design, although it looks better with this design. the learning modules page is easy to find http://www.makingthemodernworld.org.uk/learning_modules/, however once you go to the stories timeline link, it becomes harder to find your way to the page you want http://www.makingthemodernworld.org.uk/stories/. the site does fulfil the perpose for which it was intended, as it does provide a wide range of informaition which can help students with learning, and if they nead to find a specific peice of information, however the fact that it is hard to move around the site makes it a less popular, as it is harder to use than other sites.

eBay
eBay is a website, which allows people to interact with each other via buying and selling products. you can buy and sell almost anything on the site, other than consumable products.
eBay itself does not sell products, its customers do, this is good because it is not just a simple secondary to tertiery transaction. also it is a different way of buying products, because it is not only on the internet, it is also based around bid system, where the people buying have to bid for the product they want, and make sure that you are the highest bidder when the time ends. this was a new concept when eBay first came out, and now it is an established website, people use it more than the other website that do this.
eBay is set up so that you can search for anything on the site by typing in the keywords in the search bar o the homepage- http://www.ebay.co.uk try it out. this is a good way of doing it because you dont have to sign in or register to see if a product is on the site, or to get the price of a product.
when you sign in you get a view of all the thing you are buying and selling on the site, and the things that you are whatching, as well as all the details for these products, such as price. this is good because you can go to these products via the links in this information.

tsunami
the 2004 tsunami was anticipated before it struck, however the digital divide made it hard to get the message out to the people it was going to effect, this was because many people in the countries that were affected did not have a computer, nor any access to any digital or information technology, as the countries are poor. this made it hard for the people who were anticipating the tsunami to get the warning to these countries in time. after the tsunami many websites were set up in order to raise money for the country, as well as the money that the govenment would give them, in the end there was more money given that was raised over the internet, than the governments themselves gave the country. this was quite a feat.
